Con más de 30 años de trayectoria en la música, Soledad Guerrero toma ciertos elementos del rock y la trova para incorporarlos en sus canciones. Así, escribe para sus propios discos y para otros artistas también ligados a la música romántica.
Comenzó su carrera en el programa de televisión Sábados Gigantes, junto a otros intérpretes como Luis Jara y Myriam Hernández. Lanzó su primer trabajo solista compartiendo la autoría con Alberto Plaza, Soledad (1993), el cual incluía uno de sus más famosos hits Aprendí de Ti.
Hizo gira por toda Latinoamérica presentando Cariño Mío, tema que también la llevó a sonar en las radios de Bogotá, Medellín y Cali, en un concurso realizado por radios de Colombia y que se llamó «Cante con Soledad».
Viajó a Miami a registrar Yo soy Sol (2001) en el cual tuvo una mayor influencia del rock e incluso lo grabó con la banda rockera Los Dezeus e hicieron una versión de Walk on the Wild Side, de Lou Reed. Por este trabajo obtuvo el máximo galardón entregado por periodistas de espectáculos, el Premio Apes.
Pasaron siete años hasta publicar su siguiente disco Edad de Sol (2008), al cual invitó a Pablo Herrera y Alexis Venegas a grabar unos duetos, dando cuenta de su espíritu colaborativo. Este trabajo le valió el premio al Mejor compositor e Intérprete en el Festival Internacional, Festivegas, en esa misma ciudad.
Ha compuesto para varios artistas en Chile y el extranjero entre los que destacan Andrea Tessa, Eduardo Gatti, Cecilia Echenique, La Mafia, entre otros. También ha compuesto la música de los temas centrales en varias teleseries chilenas.
Actualmente su música suena en la Teleserie de TVN, “El amor lo manejo yo”, con el tema a dúo con Sergio Carrizo, My Candy Favorito.
Además comienza a grabar los temas para el que será el cuarto álbum de su carrera como cantautora.
With over 30 years of experience in music, Soledad Guerrero incorporates elements of rock and trova in her songs. Not only does she compose songs for her own albums, but is well known for her compositions for other artists, especially in songs related to romantic music.
She began her career, performing on the television show “Sábados Gigantes” throughout the eighties, along with other performers like Luis Jara and Myriam Hernández. She released her first solo work sharing the authorship with Alberto Plaza on the album Soledad (1993), which included one of her most famous hits Aprendí de Ti. She toured the album throughout Latin America which also included the song Cariño Mío. This song was heard throughout Bogotá, Medellín and Cali, as it was featured in a competition held by a Colombian radio station called «Sing with Soledad».
She traveled to Miami to record Yo Soy Sol (2001), an album which was very influenced by rock music. She even recorded it with the rock band The Dezeus and recorded a version of Walk on the Wild Side by Lou Reed for the album. For this work she received the highest award given by the Chilean journalism industry, the Apes Prize.
It took seven years to publish her next album Edad del Sol (2008), for which she invited Pablo Herrera and Alexis Venegas to record some duets, showing her collaborative spirit. This work earned her the award for Best Composer and Performer at the International festival Festivegas, in Las Vegas.
She has written many songs for several diverse artists in Chile and abroad: Andrea Tessa, Eduardo Gatti, Cecilia Echenique, La Mafia, among others. She has also composed the theme music for several Chilean soap operas, one of them –My Candy Favorito– is a duet with Sergio Carrizo, that can be heard now in the TVN soap opera El Amor lo Manejo Yo.
