En los últimos años de la década de 2000, surgía una generación de solistas volcados al pop folk como Camila Moreno y Javier Barría. Entre ellos, estaba Natalia Molina, dueña de una voz dulce, y que esperó hasta los 28 años para grabar su música. El resultado fue Demografías, un conjunto de canciones que compartió en la red, dentro de las que se destacaba “Alma”, que el 2008 grabaría nuevamente en un estudio profesional, consiguiendo gran difusión radial. En el single se escuchaba la influencia Beatle y ciertamente pop de la cantante: pegajosa y amable. Sólo tres años después salió su disco debut, Cuna de Piedras (2011), registrado en los Estudios Master. Ambas producciones contaron con sus ilustraciones y collages. Una artista por donde se le mire.

During the final years of the 2000s there were a new generation of Chilean solo artists playing folk pop music, like Camila Moreno and Javier Barría. Among them, there was also Natalia Molina, the owner of a sweet voice that had waited until the age of 28 before she released her own songs. The result was Demografías, a set of compositions that she shared on the net. Re-recording the popular song “Alma” in a professiona l studio, she got to be aired pretty heavily on local radio stations. Her music was clearly influenced by the Beatles and mainstream pop music: catchy and kind. Three years later, her real professional master debut album was released, Cuna de Piedras (Cradle of Stones, 2011). «Upa! Is a Chilean rock band that formed in 1985, whose style is influenced by new wave and jazz rock. Their members are Pablo Ugarte (voice and bass), Sebastián Piga (guitar, saxophone), Mario Planet (voice and guitar) and Octavio Bascuñán (drums).
They became a emblematic Chilean pop band during the eighties and demonstrated a higher artistic talent among the large amount of bands that competed with them in the so called “boom” of those years. The band also set a new standard of social reference regarding their lyrics, when they differentiated from groups like Los Prisioneros etc, by choosing to do a more metaphoric and subtle approach of social reflection. They were deeply inspired by British new wave, and introduced different timbres into their music, like using Sebastián Piga’s saxophone for example.
With hit songs like “Ella Llora”, “Cuando Vuelvas” and “La Bamba”, Upa! became one of the most popular groups of the decade. Their outlook aimed to keep faithful to three simple principals: “play good, sing smartly, and have a personal style”.
After a long recess the band came back to the stage and released new music at the end of the nineties with the original formation. Since then, they reunite periodically. But in 2013 they returned to stay with a big concert at the Caupolicán Theater where a 2500 audience chanted their hits. The band have sinced showcased part of their 5th studio album that they are currently recording under Barry Sage’s production. They already released their first single “Respiras por dos” and have appeared in the 2014 Lollapalooza Festival, and at several concerts throughout Chile.

«Unimos rock, sicodelia, jazz, saxo, improvisación y llegamos a la sonoridad y experiencia desenfrenada de Akinetón Retard».

La banda se fundó en plenos años noventa y siempre estuvieron ligados a la escena universitaria y teatral. Publicaron su primer disco homónimo en 1999.

La próxima década estuvo marcada por sus experiencias en el extranjero. Por ejemplo, en 2004 fueron a una gira europea, tocando en festivales y que terminó al año siguiente con la edición de un disco doble en vivo: Akinetón ao Vivo (2005), el cual refleja la exaltación de su interpretación en directo. Más adelante, el 2007 viajaron a China y Japón, donde sus discos fueron editados y el tour les dio material para publicar un DVD con un sello de ese país.

«Jorge Herrera es compositor, multi intrumentista, productor, ingeniero de sonido. En su extensa discografía Jorge Herrera se ha volcado a la música instrumental como herramienta de sanación, a base de piano, bajo y elementos electrónicos como nativos para dar con una atmósfera apta para la relajación. En su carrera prevalecen el trabajo con las emociones, la simplicidad de sus melodías y la conexión con el corazón. Influenciado por el reiki, editó su primer álbum solista, En las alturas (1997). Así su música ha servido para mejorar la calidad de vida.
Además de esa veta de música de sanación realiza conciertos dentro y fuera de Chile, destacándose por ejemplo “Construyendo Ciudades Seguras” en Ciudad de México, México en noviembre del 2012.

Jorge Herrera is a composer, multi instrumentalist, producer, and sound engineer.
Amongst his vast experience Jorge Herrera turned to playing and composing instrumental music as a healing tool. The music is based upon pianos, basses and electronic and native elements in order to give an environment suited for relaxation. Influenced by Reiki, he released his first solo album In the Heights, (En Las Alturas) in 1997 and since then, he has continued to compose music to improve life quality.
Apart from composing healing music, he performs shows in Chile and around the world. One notable show was the one for “Building Safe Cities” in Mexico City, México, in November, 2012.»

«Kinéticos es una banda de rock en movimiento. Posee un desplazamiento rítmico, a la velocidad del sonido. El escenario es el vehículo escogido para que nuestro amplio público – que va desde los 2 a los 95 años-viva la experiencia de escuchar un viaje sonoro, que pasa por distintas atmósferas e intensidades.

asada en la historia de Bernardo que viaja por Santiago junto a su Tía Ester, pasa por diversas atmósferas, como la simpleza de Silvio Silva – la historia de un pintor que al silbar colorea las paredes grises de la ciudad- a historias galácticas como el nuevo status de Plutón y los planetas enanos.

El lanzamiento de Kinéticos será en Abril del 2014 y la banda está compuesta por músicos de Cocodrilos con Martini, Akinetón Retard e invitados.

Kineticos is folk rock band in constant movement. It has a rhythmic displacement to the speed of sound. The stage is the vehicle chosen for our wider audience –from 2 to 99 years old- to live the listening experience a sound trip, passing around different atmospheres and intensities.

The history focuses on Bernardo’s trip, a kid who discovers trough imagination and music, the importance of taking care of our universe, in different songs. From the simplicity of Silvio Silva –who whilst he whistles colors the city gray walls- to galactic histories like new Pluto’ status and the tiny planets.

Kinéticos release is on April, 2014 and the band is formed by Cocodrilos con Martini, and Akinetón Retard members, and others guests.

Marcelo Aedo ha pasado por jazz, la fusión latinoamericana y el folclore, y encontró en el movimiento musical Canto Nuevo un lugar donde moverse con agilidad. Fue integrante del grupo Abril, tocó para Eduardo Gatti, Isabel Aldunate, y Schewnke & Nilo, entre otros. Un camino que desembocaría en Alsur, su propia banda  enraizada en el jazz, y Trifusión, más ligado al rock pero siempre desde la vereda del jazz.
A partir de los años 90s se concentró en trabajos solistas de su autoría, publicando tres álbumes, producidos por él mismo.  El primero fue Polosur celeste (1999) en el cual colaboró  el baterista de Congreso, Sergio Tilo González y le valió la nominación al premio Altazor como mejor ejecutante jazz; luego vendría Norte verde grande (2005) donde tocó el pianista Pablo Paredes y que nuevamente fue nominado al Altazor al mejor disco Música alternativa y Jazz; y finalmente, Azul del nuevo extremo (2009) tuvo gran distribución internacional. Además, Marcelo Aedo es productor de música para cine, teatro, danza y publicidad, como también de diversos artistas y se desempeña como profesor universitario en Arcis, U. del Pacifico e Inacap en carreras relacionadas a la interpretación y a la producción musical.

«Marcelo Aedo has walked the path of jazz fusion and Latin American folklore, and yet he has found in the Canto Nuevo musical movement a place in which to move with more agility and comfort. He was a former member of the band Abril, and has played for Eduardo Gatti, Isabel Aldunate and Schewnke & Nilo, among others. A path that would lead to Alsur, his own band rooted in jazz; and Trifusion, more tied to rock but with jazz leanings.

From the nineties onward he focused on his own compositions and released 3 solo albums. The first one was titled Polosur Celeste (South Celestial Pole, 1999), where the Congreso drummer, Sergio “Tilo”González was invited to collaborate. For this record he was nominated as “Best Jazz Player”.

Aedo’s second release was Norte Verde Grande (Great Big North, 2005) with the participation of the piano player Pablo Paredes, and again he received an Alatazor Nomination, this time for “Best Alternative Jazz Music Album”.

Finally with Azul del Nuevo Extremo (Blue new extreme, 2009) he had success with great international distribution.

Marcelo Aedo is also involved in the production of pictures, theater, and dance, he works with advertising and is a record producer. He also works as a University Lecturer at the Universidad del Pacífico and at Inacap with singing and music production programs

NicolasCantry started out on 2008, mixing blues, folk, rock and psychodelia to what they define as “country a la chilena” (or Chilean country). Their lyrics border on theatricality combining playfulness, humor and pain into songs with glimpses to classic rock & roll. The guitars are heavy, sharp and rhythmic keyboards and a psychedelic touch gives freshness to the sound of the band. After two years of work, they released their homonymous debut album the last quarter of 2013 and it will be launched live on June of this year.
Their members are Nicolás Ábalo (guitars and vocals), Matías Miguez (keyboards), Leo Espinoza (drums), Diego García (bass) and Carlos Cabalá (guitars and vocals).
